Coconut mats also prove to be extremely attractive as entrance mats. Due to its durable and robust construction, coir has long been a popular material for making useful and attractive entrance mats. Coconut fibers can be easily dyed in all imaginable shades and made into smart door mats. Our advice: Coconut fiber door mats can be left outdoors all year round, but they cannot withstand constant moisture (long periods of rain or snow) and long periods of intense sunlight/heat. It damages the natural fibres, and therefore the dirt mats should only be placed in protected, covered outdoor areas. When cleaning and using the mats, they will fray a little, but this is nothing to worry about, this is normal and is due to the natural fibres.
